An Indie Production Studio That Actually Produces

• Global Community • Local Stories • Real Production

Kinolime is an indie production studio that finds exceptional scripts through community discovery, then makes them. Since our founding, we've built a 35,000+ member global filmmaker community and developed a model that works: filmmakers submit scripts, the community champions the best ones, and we produce the winners.
South Asian filmmakers are already one of the largest communities on Kinolime. The Shorts Competition is how we're building for you.
    Visual Stats:
  • 35,000+ global filmmaker community
  • Multiple scripts in active production
  • Winners working with BAFTA-nominated directors
  • Films shooting in 2026

Real Money. Real Production.
We Don't Just Discover Scripts. We Make Them.

Kinolime is a production company. Our community discovers scripts and chooses the stories you want to see made. The script that earns that backing gets real resources to become a real film.
US $7,500 Production Grant for your production budget. No strings, no payback. Make your film the way you envision it.
US$500 Festival Submission Fund. Get your finished film seen on the festival circuit.
Film School? Self-Taught? Working Professional? You Belong Here.

If You Have the Story, We Have the Platform

First-time writer? Experienced director looking to experiment? Working in regional language cinema? Based in Mumbai, Dhaka, Karachi, Colombo—or Toronto, London, New York? If you have a short film script rooted in South Asian experience, this is for you.
    What We're Looking For:
  • Short films (3-15 minutes runtime)
  • Scripts submitted in English (films can be shot in any language)
  • South Asian stories—complex, specific, honest
  • Scripts ready for production consideration
  • Filmmakers committed to the craft

Three Steps. One Winner.

Why South Asia

You Found Us. Now We're Building for You.

South Asian filmmakers have become the second-largest community in Kinolime's global competition.
Your stories deserve more than a seat at the table. They deserve real backing.
This is Kinolime catching up to a community that was already shaping what we do. The Shorts Competition is our first step to champion the filmmakers who've already proven they belong here.
1. Submit Your Script.
Submissions Closed March 30–April 26.
2. The Community Discovers Your Work
Our team selects 26 scripts for the community to discover and vote on. The Top 10 are announced May 11.
3. Your Film Gets Made
The winning script receives production funding and festival support to bring your vision to screen.
